Cook and Brew.

Last May 17, our niece celebrated her first birthday at Mcdonald’s West Avenue. It was themed Disney Princess and here’s her birthday cake from our local bake shop. The husband took this shot using our nifty fifty lens (50mm 1.8/f lens).

Dear hubby celebrated his 2_th birthday last May 14 and here are the pictures of the food that we feasted over.

Coleslaw

Ingredients:
2 cups finely shredded cabbage
1 cup thinly sliced carrots
1/3 cup crushed pineapple, well drained
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup white sugar

For dressing:
3/4 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup thick whipping cream

Procedure:
1. Put all ingredients in a bowl.
2. Mix well and chill before serving.

Mai’s kitchen notes:
For my first trial of salad, I didn’t follow the exact proportions of the ingredients as I didn’t have raisins and whipping cream that time.. I made some adjustments on the quantities of the other ingredients. And luckily, I still managed to pull it off. Hubby liked it so much.

This month, we will be attending two birthday parties and the first one happened today. Here’s Janna’s birthday cake by Sugarbox, the same cake supplier who did my son’s birthday cake last March.

:: Pork Humba, no doubt! And boiled egg, fried hotdogs and eggs, etc. LOL.

:: Exotic.

:: Yes..it’s famous because of the local dishes they expertly cook…dinengdeng and pinakbet.

4. Can you play a musical instrument?
:: Piano and guitar but not that much though.

:: Hmmm…second who?

6. What is your favorite restaurant?
:: Kitchen and Avenetto.

7. If it were your call, how often would you make love?
:: I’d rather not answer.

8. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?
:: President GMA.

:: a stay at home mom’s job may be tough but it’s the best job in the world.
