We’re really blessed that the husband works for a caring and generous employer. There were (very) few times he thought of quitting but he easily came back to his senses reminding himself that he’s being paid satisfactorily well and the benefits are overwhelming and undeniably a big help to us.  They have all sorts of allowances and bonuses, frequently given to deserving individuals.  The health insurance extended to dependents has helped us big time when I underwent a gall stone removal procedure. It may not be as great as the BCBS of NC  packages but still, it is a huge blessing.  The hospital bill at Makati Med shoot up to Php 100K+, but through the health card we only paid the miscellaneous expense we incurred, which was a bed pan costing just about Php 60.  Without it, we wouldn’t know where we could have gotten that much to pay off our hospital bills.
