When you see a cockroach running about your kitchen top or cupboards, do fret.  Cockroaches are nasty little creatures that pose danger to our health.  They carry with them many diseases which they can very easily spread amongst your family.  These nuisance pests proliferate and multiply fast that’s why rapid control and elimination is the key to overcome cockroach and other pests problems at home.  There are various ways to avoid roaches infesting our homes.  The following practices plus regular maintenance by a Houston Pest Control team will keep this problem at bay.

We celebrated my baby daughter’s 3rd month birthday at aVeneto – SM Megamall last Sunday.  It wasn’t really planned that we’d dine here but since it’s the first restaurant that I saw coming out of Johnny Air Cargo (our main agenda that day), I right away drooled for its bestseller, the Oil and Garlic Special.  It’s been a while since my palate tasted it so I had that extreme craving instantly.  While my son just walked around and took notice of the resto’s laminate floor, we ordered the Family Platter, Oil and Garlic Special, Baked Ziti and New England’s Best Pizza.  The service was pretty fast and in no time, we were devouring all these yummy food and even had something to take home.

Carrot panpipes.  Panpipes..not pan-fried or any food-related term.  Panpipes as in a wind musical instrument.  Isn’t it surprising to know that there is such a thing as musical instruments made out of vegetables?  And yes, they’re really producing melodious sounds as that of the real musical instruments made of brass, wood and strings.  There are even groups of musicians who are famous for playing such instruments.  The Flutenveg (Flute and Veg) is a talented duo from Australia who plays 12 note-carrot panpipes on festivals, corporate functions, workshops and teambuilding events.  To quote from their site, “Tuned carrot panpipes can be made to create massed harmonies followed by carrot munching.”  Now I wonder if they can also make zildjian cymbals out of any vegetable.

Did these pictures get you drooling for strawberries and ice cream?  Well, these are actually cufflinks  and not some sort of candies or jellies that can satisfy your sweet cravings.  Cute, right?

If there are two courses that I’d like to take up when I’ve got the time and resources, that would be culinary and cosmetology.  I can cook but there’s still a lot that I wish to learn.  The menus I can cook are very limited and it’s something that I want to improve.  I’m actually tempted to buy the discounted cooking class offered by The Academy For International Culinary Arts over at Metrodeal.  Unfortunately, I’m so much tied taking care of my soon to be 3 months old daughter. 

On the other hand, I yearn to study cosmetology so I can learn how to apply great make up on me by myself.  I know I can learn from watching tutorials from youtube and other online sources but I think enrolling in a cosmetology school would be better.
