A Perennial Problem.

It’s undeniable that drug addiction has become a perennial problem not only in the country, but worldwide. The soaring numbers of drug-related crimes and the surfacing of drug rehabilitation facilities are the very proofs. I believe, albeit hardly felt, the government also tries to address this problem through promulgating laws that would curtail the drug pushing and consequently the drug using act. Unfortunately, their efforts are not enough because most of these laws are yet to be brought about and if enacted, it’s not just effective at all. Sadly, it happens that the authorities are even the ones involved in tolerating this problem in the society. Sad but it’s true.

It’s also alarming that even the youngsters are now involved in such. Living in a poverty-stricken city, it’s not uncommon to see street children younger than 10 years old sniffing substances like a rugby or a cough syrup. They resort to doing such because they think it’s the best way to satisfy their hunger. They don’t have money to buy food. Aside from poverty, parental influence and peer pressure also aggravates the problem. How can these children think this is entirely wrong when they see their parents, friends and idols do this?

I wonder where will this problem lead us. I just hope that it’s not too late to save these children and the whole society from this tremendous problem.

It is in this light when drug rehabilitation facilities should be very well regarded and supported. There are centers like the Passages Malibu in CA that is in a deep mission to help curtail this obstacle. They provide a unique approach to holistic drug and alcohol abuse recovery by effectively treating the cause of addiction. They employ top-notch facilities that make the treatment even more effective and fast. Should you wish to know more about this center or if you know of someone who needs help, check out the videos of Passages Malibu on their page. Check out Passages Malibu on Twitter, too as they post informative and helpful articles about drug addition treatments every now and then.

Too Late..Not

It’s undeniable that drug addiction has been very rampant for decades now and one of the worst problems that the government is trying to address. But with unconfirmed news involving a few of the police force members and politicians as drug lord protectors, we can’t blame people to feel helpless. How can you trust people who are supposed to be front runners in eradicating this problem if they are the ones who complicate things and make it worse. These politicians should instead initiate more intensive drug rehab efforts to save the user while drafting and promulgating stricter laws in “catching and jailing the pusher”. On our part, we can equip ourselves with drug information and education so that we’d be familiarize how dangerous they are and to help us help who are suffering and caught in this predicament. After all, it’s never too late to start anew.

Jollibee’s Maaga ang Pasko

Even though our country was massively devastated by a series of calamities recently, I believe that the whole nation will still celebrate the Christmas season with a gleeful and positive spirit. After all, we’ve always been known as a pliant kindred and we always try to stand up as a nation no matter how tough the obstacle is that comes our way.

jollibee

Jollibee’s mission of spreading Christmas cheer to needy children through their Maaga Ang Pasko program has always been commendable. It is the longest yearly Christmas donation drive where kids are encouraged to donate toys and books to kids who are less fortunate. It doesn’t have to be brand new or those latest gadgets like PS3, Xbox or netbooks. In fact, they are encouraged to donate their old toys or their current ones which actually teach and instill in them the true spirit of giving.

Kudos to Jollibee for this admirable cause.

Our FaMealy Day.

It didn’t happen as we planned.

Because of the Ondoy tragedy, the husband was forced to render overtime to cover his colleagues who weren’t able to report for work. The little one ate his dinner ahead at 7 pm, fell asleep at 8 pm while the husband arrived at 9 pm.

Nevertheless, we can have it some other day naman. Or better yet, we can try to make everyday as FaMealy Day.
