What’s Philadelphia Podiatry?
I never knew about Philadelphia Podiatry and what Podiatry means until a friend got injured from a basketball game and twisted his ankle so bad. Although he was in immense pain, he’s still fortunate because there were no ligaments torn that required any surgery or more serious treatment. Good thing he knew what to do the moment he got hurt so the injury was not aggravated. His teammates also brought him to the Emergency Room where he was seen by a Podiatrist. So that’s when I learned about what Podiatry is. It is a branch of medicine that deals with the study, diagnosis and treatment of foot, ankle and lower leg disorders. I believe that these Podiatrist usually sub-specialize in the field of Sports Medicine practice as athletes are prone to leg and foot injuries. My friend is a lot better now as his foot was bandaged for a couple of weeks. In fact, he’s planning to get back to playing basketball as soon as he’s given a clearance by the doctor. He’s actually a basketball fanatic so it’s impossible that this accident will prevent him from playing again. Not at this time when their team is a great contender in the tournament finals which will take place soon.
