Being a predominantly a Catholic country, I’m sure a lot of us is on search for non meat foods that we can eat during the Lenten season.

Conti’s, one of my favorite restaurant and bake shop and the makers of the infamous Mango Bravo cake, came up with their lenten food specials that are more on fish and vegetable dishes. These are the Grilled Salmon Head, Salmon Belly in Olive Oil, Fish Roll, and Vegetable Roll. I am yet to taste these dishes but knowing that it’s from Conti’s, they all must be good.

So for those who are up for an abstinence sacrifice this Lenten season, these are indeed good choices, healthier too, if I may add. As these are good and healthy choices, the need for adipex diet pills is somehow lifted during this time. And if coupled with fasting, I’m sure that there will be a sexier and slimmer you on Easter Sunday. But then again, let’s all remember the true meaning of these lenten sacrifices that we’re taking above all other selfish intentions.

And as parties are synonymous to food feasting, the husband is now complaining how huge he has become now. He said, he doesn’t have plans of hitting the scale soon because he dreads the results. Now, I was forced to take on the task of finding the best natural fat burner that is in the market now for him. The fact that a few of his large sized shirts became tight and snugged fitting on him depresses him all the more. I tried to cheer him up by saying in jest that I can always shop for him XL sized shirts but guess what his reaction was, he just flashed me a smug look. LOL.

Long road trips, albeit tiring, can be a lot of fun especially if with done with the family. Everytime we have an out of town trip, there are two things that keeps us alive and gratified. Food and chitchats. We do not notice the long hours drive as we keep on munching chips, cookies and sandwiches. Even the toddlers in the family have learned already that eating can take the boredom away. Since kids are pretty messy eaters, my in laws made sure to keep the car flooring protected from liquid drips and crumbs by utilizing custom floor liners and durable car floor mats. This way, we can let the toddlers and kids enjoy their food trip in the car without having to think and clear the mess afterwards. There are several car floor mats and linens that can be browsed over at CarId.com. Do check them out should you be looking for one today.

A fellow Stay at Home Mom who lives within our village recently sought my help for any home based job referrals. She got interested with my freelance online writing gig that she’s also thinking to try this out. But the problem is she’s not that internet savvy and worse, she doesn’t have a reliable desktop that she can use which is an important tool for any online job. I advised her that since she’s into makeups and has basic knowledge of haircutting, why not pursue a cosmetology career for now in an accredited cosmetology school nearby so she can further her skills and know-how. Then by the time she’s ready and have a capital to use, she can probably start her own salon for business operation. But definitely, she can always start as a salon apprentice as a startup to gain some experience. She can always browse jobs at www.beautyjobs.com for spa and salon available job posting within the area.

Summer days are here again. Aside from the tormenting afternoon heat, another indication that summer’s here is when students wrap up the school year and brace themselves for another fun and exhilarating summer break.

My 7 year old nephew attended his last first grade day the other day. Aside from getting excited over the summer activities that her Mom lined up for him, he’s also feeling ecstatic (as early as now) about starting the next school year in three months time. By then, he’ll be in second grade and will be receiving communion invitations within the year. Wow, I’m blown away how fast he’s grown. It’s like it was just yesterday when he was born and now the next thing I know, he’s graduating from grade school. As the cliche goes, time flies by really fast without you noticing it.

That’s why an electronic cigarette, no matter how interesting it may sound, has not been ever a part of our shopping list. He has a lot of friends but it’s very seldom that he joins late night beer bouts in bars or wherever guys normally hang out.

I’m one proud wifey that my husband got no vices. Thankful that he has always been a supportive and responsible husband and daddy to his unico hijo. Our son looks up to him and I’ve got no objections with that since he’s really worth idolizing. Way to go, Dad! We love you.

It’s collecting cook books and recipes from magazines. When we went to the mall last time, the husband was surprised when he saw the four small special edition cookbooks (from my favorite local food magazine) that I was carrying on my way to the cashier. I’ve also been frequenting my favorite online food sites and madly downloading their featured daily recipes. Again, the husband was surprised to see how my laptop memory is chock-full of saved data because of the tons of recipes I collected. Well, I told him not to complain because I’m doing this for the good of his “tummy”. He may not yet “reap the rewards” for now but definitely he will when we transfer to our very own Little Mansion soon and by then, I get to be the Queen of the Kitchen.

A couple of hours ago, the husband and I were chatting over YM when he suddenly remembered something. He said that he slid a Php 1000 bill into my wallet this morning before he went to work and it’s supposedly for our son’s vaccination this noon. When I told him that he didn’t have to because I have enough money, he immediately exclaimed that he will get back the bill later. I replied that he won’t be getting back any money because I’ll be shopping later unless he’ll scour the POS systems in the department store later just to find it. He just laughed and he thought I was just kidding. Let’s see what his reaction will be later. I’ll let you know.
