The Golden Cake

A friend’s son will be celebrating his 7th birthday soon with a Pirate-themed party.  She approached me recently for the survey she’s conducting which involves the cake design.  She got two choices but couldn’t decide which to go with.  I personally chose this design with a treasure chest and scattered gold coins because of its simplicity and symbolism.  She and her husband are avid gold investors and collectors so this would really have a great significance to their family.

The greatest symbolism that can also be derived is that their son is their most prized treasure above all things they have.

Speaking of gold and gold coins, I just took a peek at US Gold Bureau’s website and learned that a new batch of rare gold coins have just been put to sale.  Seeing these cake of treasure box and gold coins makes me want to invest also in this type of investment.

Menu Next Week

It’s weekend once again so here I am, listing down our weekly food menu for next week.  I have consulted the husband already and these are what we’ll be having:

- Pork Nilaga

- Chopseuy

- Pritong Tilapia and Monggo

- Chicken Liver Adobo

- Salisbury Steak with Buttered Vegetables

I purposely did not indicate the day as to when we’ll have each dish because there’s a high probability that it won’t be followed.  We tend to change our minds at the last minute depending on our mood or cravings.

Recipe Resources

We were at the bookstore this afternoon and as always, I bought again a food and recipe magazine to add to my growing collections of cooking references.  This has been a habit every time the bookstore’s our destination.  The husband’s not complaining because this is after all for them.  He’s also anxious that we eat new dishes every now and then.  Aside from these recipe books and magazines, I have also compiled a long list of food/recipe blogs and sites in my bookmarks folder which I readily click every time I draft our weekly food menu.  This is what I love about the internet.  Easy resource and instant information anytime.  Getting information across all topics is now as easy as looking for science jobs in specialized job market websites.  Can you recommend some more food and cooking related blogs and websites to add to my browser bookmark folder?

Lussori Shop

I was actually searching online for new recipes I’ll be cooking next week when suddenly I found myself browsing the lovely collection of IWC Watches at Lussori.  I actually forgot how I was led to it.  Anyway, I relaxingly browsed the shop and was deeply mesmerized by the classic and elegant timepieces.  I know for a fact that they are all expensive brands and there’s no way I can afford any of them. But I meticulously checked each one still.  I was drawn to a particular Ulysse Nardin Macho Palladium model and looking at the details, I just know that my husband will also be captivated by its manly features.  If you want to get enthralled too by the loveliest timepieces and jewelries, I suggest you also visit Lussori, the leading online retailer of the most luxurious watch brands in the market today.

All About Cakes

Since I’m salivating over the Chocolate Mousse that the husband brought me home last night, I just can’t stop thinking about cakes.  I’ve just had too much sweets for the day already so to appease my craving, I’d just feast my eyes with these artistically made themed-cakes.  Here’s a few of my favorites:
