It’s undeniable that drug addiction has become a perennial problem not only in the country, but worldwide. I believe, albeit hardly felt, the government also tries to address this problem through promulgating laws that would curtail the drug pushing and consequently the drug using act. Sadly, it happens that the authorities are even the ones involved in tolerating this problem in the society. Sad but it’s true.

It’s also alarming that even the youngsters are now involved in such. Living in a poverty-stricken city, it’s not uncommon to see street children younger than 10 years old sniffing substances like a rugby or a cough syrup. They resort to doing such because they think it’s the best way to satisfy their hunger. They don’t have money to buy food. Aside from poverty, parental influence and peer pressure also aggravates the problem. How can these children think this is entirely wrong when they see their parents, friends and idols do this?

I wonder where will this problem lead us. I just hope that it’s not too late to save these children and the whole society from this tremendous problem.

The Dip Station Joke.

Another thing that I love about the husband is that he knows just the right timing when to infuse a joke as a pick-me-up on days that I’m so low. Just yesterday, when I told him that we are invited to a friend’s wedding next month and I exclaimed that I’m so looking forward to the dessert buffet table and the dip station in the reception, his face lit up and excitedly said that he will just lounge around that area throughout the wedding banquet. I was perplexed because I’m aware that he isn’t too sweets and is on a diet so why will he frequent that section. Then he started flexing his muscles and laughed hard at me. It’s then that I realized he was joking and has the other dip station in mind. He was actually pertaining to a body press set for muscle toning. The joke’s kinda corny but he said that he’s amused at his own joke especially when he saw my gullible and astounded face.
